On Sunday, July 22, Pastor Jakov Bibulovic, Evangelism/Church Planting/Church Growth director, was appointed Vice President for Administration/Executive Secretary of Ontario Conference of Seventh-day Adventists by the Conference’s Board of Directors. Bibulovic is replacing outgoing executive secretary, Pastor David Schwinghammer, who accepted a call to Oregon Conference, starting July 1.
Bibulovic began his ministerial career in Serbia (Yugoslavia), and, following his immigration to Canada in 1997, he completed a Masters in Contextual Theology from University of Toronto and served as a pastor at Toronto Yugoslavian (2001-2010) and Barrie (2010-2013) Seventh-day Adventist Churches.
Bibulovic began serving as Evangelism/Church Planting/Church Growth director in 2013, following his election at the 33rd constituency meeting. Among his accomplishments, he spearheaded the city-wide evangelism series held in Ottawa, Toronto, Oshawa, Hamilton, London, and Waterloo and soon to be held in Leamington/Chatham and Windsor. He was also very active in reaching out to the Indigenous community in Northern Ontario.
In his “down time,” Bibulovic works on his doctoral degree in Leading for Growth and Church Multiplication from Andrews University. He also enjoys spending time with his lovely wife, Ljubica, his fellow theology graduate and partner in ministry, and daughter, Isabela, a 3rd year Bachelor of Commerce student at York University. Early in their ministry, Ljubica and Bibulovic adopted the motto found in 2 Corinthians 4:5, “For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake,” which guides every aspect of their lives.
Said Bibulovic upon his election, “I am humbled and honoured for the opportunity to serve in this capacity. I desire to follow God’s will in growing His kingdom and commit to intentional preparation for Jesus’ second coming. I look forward to supporting Dr. Edwards and Ontario Conference in fulfilling our mission.”
In turn, Ontario Conference president, Pastor Mansfield Edwards, enthused, “I’m pleased to welcome Pastor Bibulovic to the administrative team. His admirable commitment to Christ, His cause and His people is reflected in the quality of his ministry. I welcome him without hesitation and with the assurance of my prayerful support.”
