Camporee Updates (as of July 15, 2010):
1. 2010 Camporee Theme Song: “Anchored in Christ, the Lord.” Congratulations to the Mission Pathfinders of the Meadowvale Seventh-day Adventist Church for winning the 2010 camporee theme song contest. Special appreciation goes not only to the Mission Pathfinders, but also to the Berea Beacon Pathfinders, the Johnson Family of the Scarborough Pathfinder Club, and the Philadelphia Patriots for their participation in this song-writing contest.
Please start teaching this theme song to your respective clubs so everyone will be familiar with it even before coming to camporee. You may download the music sheet and MP3 from the Pathfinder website.
2. Camporee Program. Please see attached program and take note of your clubs’ part(s). Kindly inform the Pathfinders assigned to do specific parts about their schedule of performance. For those parts where your club is designated (and where you see a blank preceding your club name), it would be appreciated if you can send to the Conference names of your Pathfinders who will be participating. For music participants, they are asked to submit the Participants’ Info form (please see attachment) no later than July 23rd.
The Program Committee is still looking for clubs that can do puppet presentation or other unique renditions. Prayers in other languages are still needed. So feel free to volunteer your talented pathfinders for these parts.
Please inform all assigned participants to be at the backstage 15 minutes before the start of the service for instructions and prayer.
3. 18 L Water Bottle Order. If you have not placed your order yet, today (July 15) is your last chance. Please send the appropriate order form to Verna a.s.a.p.
4. Canned Goods Donation Drive. Each Pathfinder and Staff member is asked to bring at least 2 canned goods to be donated to the food bank in Guelph. To facilitate the collection process, kindly gather all food donations from your Pathfinders and staff at your last club meeting prior to camporee. Put them in boxes. Then label the boxes as donated by your club. As soon as you arrive at camporee and finish your onsite club registration, you will be requested to drop off all the boxes at a designated place near the registration area. Representatives from the Guelph Food Bank will come on Friday, August 6, at noontime (instead of Saturday as previously announced), to receive all the food donations from all the Pathfinder clubs.
5. Dress Code. All Pathfinders and Staff are expected to be in their complete type A uniform during the opening ceremonies on Thursday, Aug. 5, and Sabbath morning service on Aug. 7. Type B will be worn during camporee events. Sunday, Aug. 8, will be the day for all campers to wear the camporee t-shirt.
In addition, all program participants are required to be in their complete Type A uniform as they render their part (with the exception of those who are assigned to wear costumes for a drama presentation).
