Whose Job Is it Anyway?

My reaction had always been to reject the invitation.  After the long wait times of modern air travel, why should I give up my seat on a flight and take a later one?  Apparently, most people share my opinion because whenever an airline call for volunteers because of an overbooked flight, there is no mad rush to do so—even with financial inducement.   We do not like to volunteer. Champions of Freedom
January 21, 2023, was Religious Liberty Day. A day that celebrates the freedom to worship and practice one's faith. Why should this matter to the Seventh-day Adventist Church? Many may not have heard of the Public Affairs and Religious Liberty (PARL) department of the General Conference (GC). Yet, this department, like all the rest, is very important. Ganoune Diop, PARL director describes its purpose as “the church’s ministry of public affairs". Ministry Leadership Training, February 11, 2023

Ontario Conference is to host a second round of virtual training for ministry leaders at 4:00 p.m. on February 11, 2023.

All ministry leaders, especially newly-elected ones, are invited to attend.  Many of the workshops were held on the first round of training on January 21, so these are repeats allowing those who were unable to attend to do so on February 11. However, there may be new ones.

Attendees will be pleased to know that there is no registration required for the training on February 11. They will only need to select the link for the appropriate workshop and go directly to it. The list of workshops and their respective links are available on the conference website, www.adventistontario.org. All church clerks, pastors and conference directors will also have a list of the links. Conference directors are available to respond to queries regarding their workshops.

Attendees will find it helpful to obtain a copy of the link prior to February 11 to avoid experiencing delays when accessing the website when the training is about to commence.

In 2023, ADRA Canada will explore in-depth the theme of justice. What does justice look like in God’s eyes? How can we be a part of making the world a more just place while we wait for Jesus to come and accomplish the work fully?

Each month we will focus on an area of ADRA’s work through the lens of justice. In January, we are highlighting how justice is ensured through the development of economic opportunities for the poor. To learn more about this area of ADRA’s work, click here for articles, videos, and a podcast!
