Crawford Adventist Academy Launches the Holy Habits Initiative

“This is the end of the beginning,” said Principal Andon Boyce of Crawford High School as he concluded the assembly at the main campus of Crawford Adventist Academy (CAA).
The assembly held on September 15, 2025, was to launch the “On My Blessed Behavior” initiative. The purpose of the assembly was to encourage students to practice Holy Habits. It was a worship-filled program that was both engaging and uplifting.
The guest speaker was Pastor James Doggette, Jr., the director for Young Adult Ministries at the Lake Region Conference in the United States. He also serves as the 1st Lieutenant Chaplain in the US Air Force and is the author of the book “On My Blessed Behavior.” This book helped spark this assembly and the initiative for students to develop holy habits throughout the school year.
“I’ve been really looking for a program to help our students grow. Every year, we do a Johns Hopkins University survey, and one of the things that was important to our students was their personal growth,” shared Mr. Boyce.
The answer was discovered during a Grade 12 trip from CAA to the Patmos Chapel Seventh-day Adventist Church in Florida last year. While attending the program, he heard Pastor James Doggette Sr. share an inspiring quote about self-discipline. Interestingly, this quote was also included in the book "On My Blessed Behavior," which his son recently published. After conducting research and discussing it with his staff, they successfully obtained several copies of the book and collaborated with Doggette Jr. to help encourage the young people of Crawford in their spiritual journey.
“Crawford Adventist Academy is one of a kind. I immediately felt welcomed and loved, and the energy from the kids to the staff has been top tier,” said Pastor Doggette Jr. “The integration of 'On My Blessed Behavior' here as a framework for our year is also just mind-blowing to see. I’m excited about the future here at Crawford Adventist Academy, especially as they embraced the idea of really building up your core, strengthening your core, leaning into holy habits.”
Pastor Doggette Jr. is excited to see the manifestation and anointing of God’s Spirit at CAA.
With full commitment from the students, the goal is to build a new foundational culture. Mr. Boyce would love to see a new generation of Daniels or Josephs.
The book features nine holy habits, providing students with one habit to focus on each month. Additionally, there is an app and a smaller black book designed as a habit tracker. These resources will equip students with all the tools they need to continually develop their holy habits.
Pastor Doggette Jr. quotes author James Clear: “We don’t rise to the level of our goals; we fall to the level of our systems.”
The focus of this project is not just to create a moment in time but to have a long-term impact that will continuously help shape the minds of the students. By collaborating with Crawford, we are implementing a system that enables young people to develop and progress to the next level in their spiritual growth.
