An Adventurer’s Faith Leads Family to Christ
January 21, 2026 | David and Tatiana Manrique | Toronto Hispanic Seventh-day Adventist Church
On Sabbath, January 10, 2026, the Toronto Hispanic Seventh-day Adventist Church celebrated a significant spiritual milestone that beautifully reflects the mission and purpose of its people: the baptism of Dalia Pérez. Her story is a powerful testimony of how God uses even the smallest agents to touch hearts and transform lives.
Dalia’s journey began years earlier in Mexico, when a neighbour invited her and her husband Jorge’s 5-year-old daughter, Keila Sánchez, to attend the Adventurer Club at a local church. Keila quickly developed a deep love for the club. So strong was her enthusiasm that, after the family immigrated to Canada, she persistently asked her parents to take her to an Adventurer Club wherever they lived.
Eventually, her parents searched on Google Maps and found the Toronto Hispanic Seventh-day Adventist Church. The rest is history. Keila is now a happy member of the church’s "100s" Adventurer Club, and Dalia—moved by her daughter's faith and commitment and after a period of Bible study—decided to give her life to Christ through baptism. Keila and her father, Jorge, are expected to follow soon.
Commitment of Love, A Community Impact
This baptism highlights the Adventurer Club's role as a vital instrument of evangelism. "Dalia's baptism demonstrates how the Adventurer Club collaborates in bringing families closer to Christ," club leaders shared. "This is our greatest reward."
Indeed, this ministry nurtures young disciples who, through their faith and example, become missionaries within their own homes. Keia’s simple yet persistent request to attend the club ultimately led Keila, without even realising it, to earn the highest recognition: a star for her crown. More importantly, her quiet faith became a channel through which God reached her family.
These simple acts of faith, combined with intentional and consistent discipleship, remind us that God continues to use His little lambs to advance His mission—reaching hearts, transforming families, and drawing many into His Kingdom.
