Building Bridges Through Faith and Community
Posted: July 14th, 2026

On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, Apple Creek Seventh-day Adventist Church had the privilege of welcoming members of the York Regional Police Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Bureau for a meaningful community engagement initiative led by Constable Lincoln Boyd.
Approximately 50 participants, including York Regional Police recruits, employees, and members of our community, gathered to learn more about the Seventh-day Adventist Church, our beliefs, our mission, and the role faith plays in serving our community. The session provided a wonderful opportunity to foster understanding, build relationships, and engage in respectful dialogue.
It was both a privilege and a humbling experience for me to lead the presentation. I was honoured to answer thoughtful questions about our faith, who we are as Seventh-day Adventists, our beliefs, and how we operate as a local church within a worldwide movement. The openness and genuine interest shown by those in attendance made for an enriching and memorable experience.
I was also grateful for the support and representation of our church leadership, including First Elder Lester Clarke, Financial Adviser Seymour McPherson, Second Head Deacon Clive Williams, and Audio Visual Ministries Leader Macarius Auguste. Their presence reflected the spirit of excellence and hospitality that characterises Apple Creek.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Constable Lincoln Boyd and the York Regional Police Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Bureau for this outstanding initiative. Opportunities like these strengthen trust, promote mutual understanding, and demonstrate the positive impact that can be achieved when faith communities and public service organisations work together.
As a church, we remain committed to being a place of hope, service, and Christ-centred community engagement. We look forward to continuing to build meaningful partnerships that reflect the love of Christ and contribute to the well-being of our region.
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God." — Matthew 5:9
