Appeal for Venezuela Earthquake Relief
Posted: July 8th, 2026

Like many around the world, we were deeply saddened and shocked by the news from Venezuela. On June 24, 2026, two powerful strike-slip earthquakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5, struck northwestern and central Venezuela, causing widespread destruction, loss of life, and immense suffering.
According to recent reports, officials estimate that tens of thousands of people are still unaccounted for. Although the Venezuelan government has not released an official count, the United Nations estimates that thousands of people remain unaccounted for following these devastating earthquakes.
As recovery efforts continue, the Ontario Conference would like to offer our members an opportunity to respond in Christian love and support for those affected. The Administration of the Ontario Conference is asking all churches to collect donations for disaster relief. We encourage you to inform your members that the designated offering dates will be July 18 and July 25, 2026.
We are in communication with ADRA Canada, which has already begun the challenging work of assessing the damage and responding to the areas of greatest need. Through your generosity, we can provide hope and practical assistance to our brothers and sisters in Venezuela during this difficult time. Together, we can let them know that they are not forgotten and that we stand with them in prayer and compassion.
Donations may be made through your local church or online at AdventistGiving.org. Please designate your gift to "Disaster Response."
Thank you for your compassion, generosity, and continued prayers as we work together to bring hope and healing to those in need.
