Discipling to Save: Third Hispanic Camp Meeting Celebrates Growth and Faith in Ontario
Posted: June 3rd, 2026

Under the theme “Discipling to Save,” Hispanic Ministries celebrated its third annual Camp Meeting on May 23 at the West End Church of Prophecy in Etobicoke. More than 530 members representing the 15 Hispanic congregations across the Ontario Conference gathered to rejoice in God’s blessings and celebrate the growth of the Hispanic Adventist community over the past year.
Inspiring Messages and Institutional Support
The event featured distinguished guest speakers, including Dr. John W. Taylor, President of Andrews University, who encouraged attendees to persevere in their pursuit of Christ through the story of Bartimaeus. He also challenged the congregation to embrace their calling as the salt of the earth and make a meaningful impact in their communities.
Dr. Félix Hadid Cortez, Professor of New Testament Literature at Andrews University, delivered a powerful message urging Hispanic Adventists to become faithful disciples in “Babylon,” actively participating in God’s mission to reach those who have not yet responded to His call.
Representing the Ontario Conference administration, Pastor Jakov Bibulovic, Conference President, and Virene Meikle, Conference Treasurer, encouraged members to unite their efforts in preparation for the upcoming global evangelistic initiative, ONE VOICE 2027.
Highlights of the Celebration
One of the most meaningful moments of the Camp Meeting was the baptism of a precious soul, a powerful reminder of the church’s ongoing mission to share the Gospel and make disciples.
The program also featured inspiring praise and worship led by the Hispanic musical group Novo Tempo and the Ontario Hispanic Choir. A particularly moving segment was the “March of the New Disciples,” which recognised and celebrated individuals baptised between 2025 and 2026. Special appreciation was also expressed for the dedicated deacons and deaconesses whose faithful service helps create welcoming and caring church communities.
“Undoubtedly, God continues to do great things through the Hispanic pastors and members of the Ontario Conference.”
Warm fellowship, united prayer, and meaningful encounters with God characterised this memorable gathering. Members from across the province strengthened their bonds of faith and renewed their commitment to the mission of making disciples. As the Hispanic Ministries community looks ahead, it does so with confidence, moving forward hand in hand with the Lord and trusting in His continued guidance and blessings.
