First Official Investiture of the Hispanic Master Guide Club
January 21, 2026 | David Manrique | Toronto Hispanic Adventist Church
A historic milestone was celebrated at the Toronto Hispanic Adventist Church on January 10, 2026, with the investiture of four members of the Hispanic “Master Eagle” Master Guide Club.
Leandro Delgado, Yasmín García, Yoana Lázaro (Master Guide for Adventurers), and Itzel Santiago (Master Guide for Pathfinders) became the first members to be invested as Master Guides within the first officially recognised Hispanic Master Guide club in the Ontario Conference.
Completing the Master Guide requirements was no easy task. “It was a complete challenge to fulfill each requirement, especially as a mother,” shared García, who also balances her studies as a university student. Lázaro managed the demands of her children and long workdays while fulfilling the requirements. “Sometimes I had to take my laptop to work every day to keep up with the requirements,” says Santiago. “But it was worth it.” All four expressed gratitude and satisfaction with their achievements.
For Delgado, the experience brought a deeper spiritual insight: “Spiritual growth goes beyond fulfilling requirements. It allows me to develop and contribute to the formation of children and other leaders as well,” he reflected.
The investiture was officiated by Wendy Guzman, Master Guide District Coordinator, representing the Ontario Conference Master Guide Council. Also in attendance were Mitsie Howe, Executive Coordinator, and María Cortez, Area Coordinator, from the Ontario Conference Adventurer Council. With this investiture, the four newly invested Master Guides join the 16 Master Guides who have been certified by the Conference over the past two years, forming a strong leadership team prepared to serve as Adventurer and Pathfinder leaders. Additionally, during the induction ceremony held that same day, three new members were welcomed into the club to begin their journey toward becoming Master Guides.
As a church, we remain committed to the ongoing training of our club leaders, ensuring qualified individuals are prepared to support the physical, mental, and spiritual development of our children and youth. We praise God for every victory achieved in His name, and we continue to grow in every way by His grace.
Congratulations, Master Guides!
