Rejoicing in the Power of Prayer
January 21, 2026 | Edith Missah-Habaradas | Ontario Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
As we reflect on the recent Ten Days of Prayer, our hearts are filled with gratitude and awe at what God has done among us. These days of united prayer reminded us that prayer is not our last resort but our greatest privilege. As we humbled our hearts, opened the Word, and lifted one another before the Lord, we sensed His nearness and renewing power. Truly, God honours a praying people.
One of the greatest joys of this season was witnessing more than 1,000 brothers and sisters gather for our conference-wide Zoom prayer meeting on Wednesday, January 7, and Friday, January 16, 2026. Though separated by distance, we were united in faith, purpose, and the presence of the Holy Spirit. Seeing so many voices lifted together in praise and intercession was a powerful testimony that God’s church is alive and longing for revival.
As we move forward, let us not allow this spirit of prayer to fade. The Lord calls us to keep praying, to continue trusting, and to keep asking for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in our homes, churches, and lives. May we press closer to Jesus each day, trusting His promise that when His people pray, He will work mightily. “’Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts” (Zechariah 4:6).
