Ontario Conference President Sets the Tone
for New Directors

There was an air of anticipation as current and outgoing directors of the Ontario Conference met for a special leadership session. The event took place at a local restaurant, providing a relaxed atmosphere for a meet-and-greet filled with fellowship and people making meaningful connections.

Leading the session was the newly elected Conference President, Jakov Bibulovic. The president expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the incoming and incumbent directors, recognizing their calling by God to serve the Ontario Conference and its members. He also extended his gratitude to the outgoing directors for their faithful and valuable service throughout their tenure.

President Bibulovic passionately reminded all officers of the great work God has called them to—to build up the kingdom of God by proclaiming the Gospel to the province. He then urged the directors to inspire all congregations in Ontario to be active in evangelism, intentional in discipleship, loving to retain our members and focused on revitalizing every congregation. The president also emphasized that the Conference has a strategic plan in place to reach those goals. He pledged to support the entire team and explained that conference executives will meet with each director to align their department with the strategic plan.

During the session, the New Executive Secretary, Emile Maxi, shared his insights with the directors. He emphasized that the work ahead cannot be done without the Holy Spirit. He urged attendees to keep each other in prayer.

Additionally, Virene Meikle, the incumbent Conference Treasurer, also extended a warm welcome to the incoming officers, and she unveiled a new technology initiative aimed at supporting all of the Director’s work.

As the event concluded, attendees left the session motivated and prepared to embark on their respective responsibilities with a renewed commitment to the mission of the Ontario Conference.

With Father's Day just around the corner, it's the perfect time to celebrate and honour the amazing fathers in our lives. Dads are a gift from God, and they play a crucial role in our families, providing love, guidance, and support. Today, I want to encourage each one of you to join in and make this Father's Day a truly special occasion for all the fathers connected to our community.

In the Bible, we find numerous references that highlight the value of fathers and the impact they have on their families. Proverbs 20:7 states, "The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him." A father who lives with integrity and follows the ways of our Lord Jesus sets an inspiring example for his children, leaving a lasting legacy of faith and blessings for generations to come.

Let's take this opportunity to honour our fathers, including spiritual fathers, those men who were mentors and father figures that poured into our lives as well as other children and families with their love and wisdom. We can express our gratitude by spending quality time with them, listening to their stories, and letting them know how much they mean to us.

Moreover, let's remember to pray with and for all the dads in our churches and our surrounding communities. Pray for their strength. Pray that God gives them His wisdom and perseverance to care for their families and navigate the challenges of fatherhood. Let us also seek God's guidance for ourselves so we can help support them in fulfilling their role as leaders and nurturers in their families.

Together, as a community of believers, let's celebrate fathers and honor them for their remarkable impact on our lives.

Wishing all the dads a very happy and blessed Father's Day!

Your Communications and Media Team

Greetings from Your New Communications
and Media Director

Greetings, Ontario Conference! I am pleased to introduce myself as the new Director of Media and Communication. I am excited to join you and our Ontario Conference leadership team on this journey, to strengthen our communications and raise awareness of Seventh-day Adventism throughout Ontario.

I'm thankful to God for guiding me and using my past experiences to bring me to this moment where I can serve you in this new position.

As I take on the role of Director of Communication and Media, I'm looking forward to continued collaboration with Fifaliana Rakotoarison and Ashton Blake, who have been serving the Conference with excellence in the area of media. I'm also humbled by the foundation set by my predecessors in communications: Christelle Agboka and Pastor Halsey Peat. They have worked diligently to improve communication within our community and have set the bar high. My goal is to build upon their achievements and create an environment where we feel more connected as a Conference, helping to nurture our relationships with Jesus.

My vision for the future focuses on two main objectives: strengthening communications within the Conference and raising awareness of Seventh-day Adventism among Ontarians. I believe that fostering effective internal communication and celebrating our diversity is vital for our growth, unity, and alignment with the Conference's vision of "Connecting Like Jesus."

I believe that we need to proclaim the Gospel to every tribe, language and people in Ontario! The Bible-based doctrines of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and the inspired writings of Ellen White have the power to transform lives and communities by leading people to Jesus. I'm passionate about showcasing the richness of Adventism and spreading our unique, Christ-centered message of hope and wholeness across Ontario.

I'm eagerly looking forward to the exciting work ahead, and I'm confident that together we can achieve great things. Let's come together as a community, strengthen our bonds, and shine the light of Seventh-day Adventism brightly across Ontario.

Blessings,

Shawn Ellis, director
