Toronto Chinese Adventist Church Celebrates Lunar New Year

The Toronto Chinese Seventh-day Adventist Church joyfully celebrated the Lunar New Year on February 21, 2026, the first Sabbath of the year. The event was a meaningful spiritual gathering marked by heartfelt worship, warm fellowship, and a renewed commitment to mission. Approximately 20 Chinese students from Kingsway College joined the celebration, bringing youthful energy and joy to the Sabbath worship experience.

Gracing the special occasion was Pastor Jakov Bibulović, Ontario Conference President, who delivered a powerful and timely message entitled “As Never Before” with Church Elder Sonia Luk providing Chinese interpretation. Drawing from Matthew 24:14, Pastor Bibulović reminded the congregation that we are living in a decisive moment in history.

“The gospel of the kingdom will be preached as never before… and His people will focus on the preaching of the gospel,” Pastor Bibulović declared.

Emphasizing the heart of discipleship, he added, “The only way God’s people will always stay close to Jesus is if we are committed and faithful to the Great Commission. As Jesus promised, if you make disciples, I will be with you until the end.” He encouraged members to depend on the Holy Spirit, preach the everlasting gospel to all nations, and arise and shine as never before.

The celebration continued on Sunday, February 22, with a vibrant Spring Festival Gala (春節聯歡會). The program featured a variety of performances and activities, including traditional dances, vocal performances, interactive games, Tai Chi demonstrations, and Chinese calligraphy. Each presentation beautifully reflected both cultural heritage and community unity.

As we enter this New Year, the church moves forward with hope and confidence, committed to sharing the gospel—“As Never Before.”
